Saturday of the Fourth Week of Lent

They said they knew
where He was from—
as if truth were tied
to a place on the sun.

But He came from depths
no map could chart—
from the Father’s will
to the human heart.

And I, who boast
of where I’ve begun,
forget each day
where I am from.

Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary

I planned a quiet exit—
a dignified retreat from the strange.

But God spoke in a dream
and called me to remain.

Holiness is not escape—
but staying
when love makes no sense.

Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent

I filled out my bracket
with confidence and care—

but heaven is not won
by predictions.

The Judge does not consult
my rankings.

He only asks:

What did you do
with the grace
you were given?

Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Lent (Optional Memorial of Saint Patrick, Bishop)

I say I am doing well—
and perhaps I am.

But Christ asks a deeper question
than grammar can answer.

Not “How are you?”
but

“Do you want to be well?”

Monday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Life writes its plans in pencil,
God answers them in ink.

We promise perfect faith—
unless the world interrupts.

But grace waits patiently
somewhere along the road
between prayer
and home.

Fourth Sunday of Lent

Parents learn the strangest truth of all:
children are not merely born to them—
they are born for them.

For a child can open blind eyes
more surely than clay and water,
and teach a grown man to see
the Kingdom of God.
