“But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil.”
Mt 5:39
Monday of the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time
Love is the answer
This is how we rise up
It’s our resistance, you can’t resist us”

However, I live in Hope!
Bishop Patrick J. Zurek, A Reflection on Christian Life

My conscience tells me that the greatest obstacle to the Kingdom of God for “a few” is not our bishop, but MAGA, WOKE and COMFORTABLE Catholics. I agree with Bishop Patrick J. Zurek in putting forth in his Holy Week homilies this year the Encyclical of Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti, as the standard for love and unity in our diocese. Today, let’s reflect upon paragraph #234 and current events in that regard:

CHAPTER SEVEN
PATHS OF RENEWED ENCOUNTER
THE ART AND ARCHITECTURE OF PEACE
Beginning with the least

“…we (Bishop Zurek, who is pictured above, and 66 other bishops) respectfully urge that all conference-wide discussion and committee work on the topic of eucharistic worthiness and other issues raised by the Holy See be postponed until the full body of bishops is able to meet in person.
COMFORTABLEs “offer passive resistance” to “tranquil social coexistence by not caring about “Eucharistic coherence” as long as they can receive Communion on their own terms.
MAGAs “offer resistance” to “tranquil social coexistence” by maintaining that there is an “inequality and lack of integral human development” in some that makes “Eucharistic coherence” “impossible”.
WOKEs “offer resistance” to “tranquil social coexistence” by maintaining that no amount of “inequality and lack of integral human development” should make “Eucharistic coherence” “impossible”.
235. Those who work for tranquil social coexistence should never forget that inequality and lack of integral human development make peace impossible.

Cardinal Napier, who turned 80 in March, had been archbishop of Durban since 1992 and was created a cardinal by St. John Paul II in 2001, becoming South Africa’s first Black cardinal.
COMFORTABLEs “offer passive resistance” to getting involved in bringing about “equal opportunities”, and allow a situation to “eventually explode”.
MAGAs “offer resistance” with “different forms of aggression and conflict” to any bishop that is appointed who they judge as WOKE.
WOKEs “offer resistance” to MAGA and provide “a fertile terrain for growth” for the “aggression and conflict”
Indeed, “without equal opportunities, different forms of aggression and conflict will find a fertile terrain for growth and eventually explode.

“The Catholic community in London offers our support to our Muslim brothers and sisters, pledging to work together with them to end crimes of hate,”
COMFORTABLEs “offer passive resistance” to anything that does not “indefinitely guarantee tranquility”.
WOKEs “offer resistance” to “resources spent on law enforcement or surveillance systems”.
MAGAs “offer resistance” to ” political programmes” that are unwilling to leave a part of itself (society) on the fringes .
When a society – whether local, national or global – is willing to leave a part of itself on the fringes, no political programmes or resources spent on law enforcement or surveillance systems can indefinitely guarantee tranquility”.[222]

“That is certainly exemplified through Peter’s storytelling this year. From pro-life pharmacists, to a 70-year marriage to racism, sexual abuse and gang life,”
COMFORTABLEs “offer passive resistance” to “begin anew” because they won’t read the news.
MAGAs “offer resistance” to “begin anew” by not reading news about “the least of our brothers and sisters” who suffer from “racism” .
WOKEs “offer resistance” to “begin anew” by not reading news about pro-life pharmacists “.
If we have to begin anew, it must always be from the least of our brothers and sisters.

“The Glenn” in conjunction with the Laudato Si’ Action Platform has pledged to develop a Laudato Si’ Plan, which we can use to discern and implement our response to Laudato Si’. This part of the blog will update readers on this journey.

Rather than mandated prayers, “quotas”, or “offering resistance” to “a few”, evangelization of this type is the key to growing priestly vocations in the Diocese of Amarillo.
Today I pray that those of us in the Diocese of Amarillo, but especially those at St. Mary’s Cathedral and, “the few” , not just limit ourselves to the Old Testament commandment which was meant to moderate vengeance; but do as Jesus taught and offer, “no resistance to one who is evil“.
