With no insults and all morals
Is it NORMAL for a lay Catholic to have a bishop who seems to find it insulting for our pope to impose on him to fit in his schedule an October 17th opening for a journey with the burdened, that is above all that of discovering the face and form of a synodal Church, in which “everyone has something to learn?
Today is the 5th day since the solemn opening in Rome of the 2021-2023 Synod entitled “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission” . There are 5 days until the Diocese of Amarillo is expected to open the process on the 17th of October; however Bishop Zurek seems to be holding in low esteem the idea of the faithful people, the college of bishops, the Bishop of Rome: all listening to each other, and all listening to the Holy Spirit, the ‘Spirit of truth’ (Jn 14:17), in order to know what He ‘says to the Churches’ (Rev 2:7).”, because he hasn’t lifted one finger to put in on it on is schedule.
Bishop Zurek stated that one of “the few” only wanted division and disunity, but isn’t he the one that is standing in the way of this “journeying together,” in which we ask the Spirit to help us discover how communion, which brings together in unity the variety of gifts, charisms, and ministries, is for the mission: a synodal Church is a Church “going forth,” a missionary Church “whose doors are open” (EG, no. 46).
This is a clear indication that this one of “the few” has no intention to stop causing division in the Body of Christ. His line is quite clear; he only wants division and disunity.

Realizing that the Lord gives back to everyone according to his works, Pope Francis and other bishops, including Bishop Robert of Lubbock, have already embraced the perspective of “journeying together,” which is now growing even broader, and embracing all humankind, whose “joys and hopes, griefs and anxieties” we share (GS, no. 1).
I pray that Bishop Zurek lowers himself to join the sheep who hears the Lord’s voice and follows along with a synodal Church which is a prophetic sign, above all for a community of nations incapable of proposing a shared project, through which to pursue the good of all: practicing synodality is today for the Church the most evident way to be “the universal sacrament of salvation” (LG, no. 48), “a sign and instrument of intimate union with God and of the unity of the whole human race” (LG, no. 1).
If His Excellency continues to pay no attention to judgment and to love for God, then, “Woe” to him!
