“The art of celebrating must be in harmony with the action of the Spirit. Only in this will it be free from the subjectivism that is the fruit of individual tastes dominating. We must understand how deeply we remain entrenched in individualism and subjectivism.”
Bishop Zurek, V. The Journey from the Cenacle in Jerusalem to the Texas Panhandle, The Holy Eucharist: Celebration and Profound Significance, Diocesan Catechesis
Could it be that the Amarillo Diocese is bound to a dominating belief that Laudato si’ has no external or objective truth in it (subjectivism), thus favoring a freedom of action for individuals over Church teaching (individualism) that entrenches a taste for a past fruit of justice derived from an overturned court decision and a closed Planned Parenthood clinic instead of celebrating in harmony with the Holy Spirit for fresh fruit, which is “speedily” extending the reach of the defense perimeter around the womb to all of earth, our common home?
“Meanwhile Aaron and Hur supported his (Moses’s) hands, one on one side and one on the other,…”
Ex 17:12
By assembling the diocese on the anniversary and location of an already fought battle, how are we supporting Pope Francis, who under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, is overseeing a war for justice by engaging the Church in the expansion of the defensive zone that protects the unborn against “destructive systems” that disrespect life?
“The present state of decay of our common home merits the same attention as other global challenges…Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience,”
Pope Francis’s message for the World Day of Prayer for Creation
Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Ps 121: 2
The Lord , by way of Pope Saint John Paul II and Bishop Yanta, has helped us do the justice of closing the doors of Planned Parenthood in the diocese, ban abortion in Texas and overturn Roe v. Wade in the Country; is it not time to go beyond the womb to all of heaven and earth with our “Respect Life” message?
proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.
2 Tm 4: 2
Is the convincing, reprimanding and encouraging of the scriptural justice found in the Laudato si’ “Respect Life” message not as convenient as setting aside a Saturday once a year to celebrate a Mass and walk a few blocks?
It must not have been “convenient’ for Bishop Zurek to celebrate Catholic Schools week with the rest of the nation from January 29- February 4, 2023, because in the Diocese of Amarillo it is the week of Sunday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 18, 2022. Bishop Zurek is in the habit of taking a personal vacation around the end of January. I’m assuming he will be present for the Respect Life Mass & Walk since he has requested that no other activities be scheduled that day.(However in years past he has made the same request and not been present.)
The annual March for Life rally in Washington is changing it’s focus, butthe Amarillo Diocese has already done justice politically to back the, ““Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act,”; so is waiting for other dioceses to catch up with us before expanding the “Respect Life” message beyond abortion our idea of being living and effective?
Gospel
I (Jesus) tell you, he(God) will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
