From a Nov. 8th statement from Kentucky’s Catholic bishops following the state’s rejection of a constitutional amendment that said there was no right to abortion in the state.
So that the good you do might not be forced but voluntary…
…is the approach that St. Paul used to deal with the, “accepted institution of antiquity, human slavery…He does not attack slavery directly, for this is something the Christian communities of the first century were in no position to do, …Yet Paul, …voiced an idea revolutionary in that day and destined to break down worldly barriers of division “in the Lord.”
After yesterday’s midterms it is apparent that attacking abortion directly is something that the Catholic communities of the 21st century are in no position to do.

…we were trying to secure “justice for the oppressed” by passing laws; forgetting that the LORD does it by:
- giving food to the hungry.
- setting captives free.
- giving sight to the blind.
- raising up those who are bowed down.
- loving the just.
- protecting strangers.
- sustaining the fatherless and the widow.
- thwarting the way of the wicked.
I am the vine, you are the branches, says the Lord:
whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit...
Allowing abortions before 15 weeks is the least we can do to protect women, as well as babies who at this stage are not fully formed in their mother’s womb and cannot feel pain. It is consistent with what we know from science about the advantage of early abortion, as well as in line with where Americans stand on the issue.
March for Life Statement
… so, will we “remain” in Him; or walk the “Respect Life Walk” and “go off…in pursuit” of March for Life and the Republican party as they go the route of relativism which thinks, “a little abortion is better than a lot”; and “leads to…”❓
