How can my feet be beautiful in bringing glad tidings from the Mass of the Nativity today, so that all the ends of the earth can see the saving power of God , if I don’t first go to the bare reality of things, and lay at the foot of the manger all my excuses, my justifications and my hypocrisies that binds me to a past that speaks of God in partial and various ways and makes it necessary, after the celebration of a holy day dawning and a great light coming upon the earth, for my rector to inform me of how the law will deal with an unfortunate Cathedral intruder who stole his blanket, made a mess and took a shower on a frigid Christmas Eve Eve night; but remains silent about the grace and truth that came by Jesus Christ for the “Fortunate Son” (the blasphemous MISTER Frank Pavone) who formerly concelebrated at our Cathedral Altar, and told me it’s my “DUTY” and I’m “not guilty of the deaths” of the multitudes of non-pain capable innocents, from conception to 15 weeks, who will be sacrificed on his political altar in order to gain legislative support ❓
