Reading 1

Responsorial Psalm

Alleluia

Gospel

Foolish…wise: cf. the contrasted “wise man” and “fool” of Mt 7:24, 26 where the two are distinguished by good deeds and lack of them, and such deeds may be signified by the oil of this parable.

At the Lord’s coming will I be be ready with the wise who are extending the defense perimeter around the unborn upward and outward to all of creation; or will I be a “backwardist” who retreats into the womb and sets the battle line at 15 weeks after conception❓

Pope Francis: Second Laudato si’ to be published on 4 October

From September 1 – October 4, the Christian family unites worldwide in prayer and action for creation during the Season of Creation. The 2023 theme is “Let Justice and Peace Flow.”

“in this Season of Creation, as followers of Christ on our shared synodal journey, we may live, work, and pray so that our common home will teem with life once again.”

Pope Francis

When we fail to acknowledge as part of reality the worth of a poor person, a human embryo, a person with disabilities – to offer just a few examples – it becomes difficult to hear the cry of nature itself; everything is connected.

Laudato si, paragraph 117
