No sooner was he converted than Matthew drew after him a whole crowd of sinners along the same road to salvation.
Today’s Office Second Reading From a sermon by St Bede the Venerable
Reading 1

On this 21st day of the Season of Creation, am I not looking forward to the day when Pope Francis accepts the pending resignation of Bishop Zurek; but is that following the example of how Pope Francis, with all humility and gentleness, with patience is
bearing with Bishop Strickland through love over the “firebrand ” bishop’s criticism of the Synod…
Responsorial Psalm
…for just as Bishop Strickland’s divisive message is being spread through all of social media, isn’t Bishop Zurek’s message of contempt for me and a “few” others still posted on the diocesan website proclaiming that since we made, “infamous
accusations against Bishop Zurek, Monsignor Colwell and Father Roy, we’re not part of the parishioners of St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish, who are the faithful and loyal disciples that the Lord Jesus desires”,…
Alleluia
Gospel
…but in the end, does it matter if a company of apostles condemns me as being too unrighteous to be a part of St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, or participating in the Synod, as long as I, a sinner among the sinners, hear and follow Jesus’s call❓

From September 1 – October 4, the Christian family unites worldwide in prayer and action for creation during the Season of Creation. The 2023 theme is “Let Justice and Peace Flow.”
“in this Season of Creation, as followers of Christ on our shared synodal journey, we may live, work, and pray so that our common home will teem with life once again.”
Pope Francis

Laudato si, paragraph 117
