In having my Mass intention canceled, was my priest attempting to ask in Jesus’s name that I retaliate by doing something like attacking him in the confessional with pepper spray so that he could shout with cries of gladness the reason I vigorously refuted his clericalism on Facebook was mental illness; and it was high time for me to be leaving the parish for some long overdue therapy…
…but wouldn’t such an action on my part be a concrete violation of my human dignity for which I am called to have a concrete commitment, even if I believe my fundamental right to live with dignity has been denied based on my priest’s diagnosis of my developed limitations…
…for just as St. Francis would call creatures, no matter how small, by the #name of ‘brother’ or ‘sister’, my priest, no matter what he’s done, is my ‘brother’, and isn’t such a conviction something that cannot be written off as naïve romanticism, because it affects the choices which determine my behavior…
