“For whoever is not against us is for us.“

From Today’s Gospel Mark 9:40

Should I prevent myself from posting about my discernment of Bishop Zurek’s governing with clericalism at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral – Amarillo, TX since it goes against, as Bishop Zurek claims, “the faithful and loyal disciples that the Lord Jesus
desires
‘; however, did Jesus desire that the Mass my intention was assigned to be canceled abruptly after I posted about a friend whom I thought had been clericalistically canceled; moreover, does Jesus desire a clericalist centered United Catholic Appeal in which, as Fr. Tony says, “…every dollar that is not pledged… does not affect Bishop Zurek in any negative way…what it does is take a dollar from your children…”; finally, if Bishop Zurek is governing us as a synodal and missionary Church instead of with clericalism, why were we “unable to come up with enough missionaries to conduct Totus Tuus in our diocese this summer,”; was it Jesus’s desire that the Totus Tuus Program be Cancelled like people and sacraments have been at the Cathedral; thus, since going against Bishop Zurek’s governing with clericalism does not appear to go against Jesus, should I not take up my cross and keep posting for Him;

Father Tony speaking from the Sanctuary about how the United Catholic Appeal takes from us.

“Even in the most developed and democratic countries, the concrete social reality testifies to the fact that women are often not accorded the same dignity as men. ”

FROM PARAGRAPH 44 of Declaration of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith “Dignitas Infinita” on Human Dignity

…similarly, in the Diocese of Amarillo, doesn’t concrete social reality testify to the fact that the laity are often not accorded the same dignity as clerics…

He (Blessed Pope Paul VI) spoke in similar terms to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations about the potential for an “ecological catastrophe under the effective explosion of industrial civilization”, and stressed “the urgent need for a radical change in the conduct of humanity”, inasmuch as “the most extraordinary scientific advances, the most amazing technical abilities, the most astonishing economic growth, unless they are accompanied by authentic social and moral progress, will definitively turn against man”.

From Paragraph 4 of ENCYCLICAL LETTER LAUDATO SI’ OF THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS ON CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME

… accordingly, doesn’t the urgent need for a radical change in the conduct of the laity towards Bishop Zurek’s clericalism demand I remain on the synodal path for progress or else my participation in his clericalism will definitively turn against Jesus and myself ❓

Saint Rita of Cascia (1377 – 1447)
She was born near Cascia, in Umbria in Italy. She was married at the age of 12 despite her frequently repeated wish to become a nun. Her husband was rich, quick-tempered and immoral and had many enemies. She endured his insults, abuse and infidelities for 18 years and bore him two sons, who grew to be like him.
  Towards the end of his life she helped to convert her husband to a more pious way of life, but he was stabbed to death by his enemies not long afterwards. He repented before he died and was reconciled to the Church.
  Her sons planned to avenge their father’s death. When Rita’s pleas were unavailing, she prayed that God should take their lives if that was the only way to preserve them from the sin of murder. They died of natural causes a year later.
  Rita asked to join the convent of St Mary Magdalen at Cascia. She was rejected for being a widow, since the convent was for virgins only, and later given the impossible task of reconciling her family with her husband’s murderers. She carried out the task and was allowed to enter the convent at the age of 36. She remained there until her death at the age of 70.
  She is widely honoured as a patron saint of impossible or lost causes.
