Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Why is it so important to me that there was NO “NO 7:00 am MASS” yesterday as posted in the “Peek at the week” section of St. Mary’s Cathedral’s bulletin❓;…

Instead of a canceled Mass, I am delighted to be able to blog about an added Mass today!

…”so before all else, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the generous work that” our Pastor, Bishop Zurek (I’m not sure what he’s up to today), Father Tony, (who is spending his day off and birthday today with our youth on their summer Mission), Father Avitus, (whose reflection at Mass this morning on receiving Communion daily contributed to this Lectio Divina) and Msgr. Bixenman do each day, sowing seeds of the Gospel in every kind of soil; conversely, I have expressed my anger, and will continue to cry out, “Incline your ear, O LORD, and listen! Open your eyes, O LORD, and see!“, when regularly scheduled Masses are canceled…

…indeed, isn’t the primary way that, “God upholds his city for ever.“, the Eucharist;…

Deacon Robert, in his fabulous impromptu Homily last Sunday, very succinctly gave the reason why I express my displeasure when Masses are canceled.
(By the way, that is my grandson Everett who is serving)

…subsequently, if I am to follow “the light of the world” as the Lord says, is there no better way for me as a Catholic to do so than to “have the light of life” received into my body daily at Mass;…

…furthermore, “The world which came forth from God’s hands returns to him in blessed and undivided adoration: in the bread of the Eucharist, “creation is projected towards divinization, towards the holy wedding feast, towards unification with the Creator himself”; so, since the Eucharist “is also a source of light and motivation for my concerns for the environment, directing me to be a steward of all creation”, and although I have “gratitude and appreciation” for my dog and swine, wouldn’t allowing them “to trample…underfoot, and turn and tear (me) to pieces” by giving them what is holy be unconscionable; and isn’t allowing my priests to have Mass canceled the same❓
