Doesn’t, Bishop Zurek seem quite comfortable hiding “behind appearances of religiosity and even love for the Church” inside the locked doors of his overbuilt Diocesan pastoral center as he teaches us about things we already know about, Abortion: The Scriptures and Discrimination, yet sheds no light on the Catholicity of a proposed ordinance in his Diocese of Amarillo that exposes to liability anyone who “aids or abets an elective abortion if the abortion is performed on a resident of Amarillo”, regardless of where the abortion occurs❓ Moreover, hasn’t His Excellency shown that he is quite comfortable with locked doors this year since:
- from behind locked doors he approved the termination of the principal of his Cathedral School for vague reasons as she, staff and students were returning unawares of what was to befall them on the first day of school after the Christmas Holy Days.
- the doors of his Cathedral confessionals have been locked almost half of the time since May for various reasons
- he used Canon Law to have the doors of the Cathedral Chapel locked to the daily Eucharist on Holy Wednesday and dozens of other times to support the spirituality and health of his brother priests. (It appears this trend will continue or increase in September since Bishop Zurek has allowed both priests at his Cathedral to be gone at the same time and His Excellency has never in his Episcopacy celebrated a daily Mass at his Cathedral.
Considering how comfortable Bishop Zurek is with locked doors, I wonder how he will deal with his Cathedral hosting an opened Holy Door next year, even to those, “helping patients travel through Amarillo to access abortions“; furthermore, since he has, “always prayed to the Lord to grant (him) a small share of his Spirit.”, will his prayers be answered by being, “compelled to share some of (his) inspirations and reflections”, on the upcoming vote on a ban of “abortion trafficking” in his Diocese of Amarillo❓
By not informing our consciences about the upcoming vote on a ban of “abortion trafficking” in his Diocese of Amarillo, isn’t Bishop Zurek setting us up to be with the “foolish ones” outside a locked door hearing the Lord replying, “Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.”❓
