To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, “The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls”
And whispered in the sound of silence
Is it NORMAL for a lay Catholic in the Diocese of Amarillo to believe that Bishop Zurek will be in error if he does not open the Synod this Sunday as Pope Francis has requested?

Today is the 3rd day since the solemn opening in Rome of the 2021-2023 Synod entitled “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission” . There are 7 days until the Diocese of Amarillo, in a sign proclaiming obedience of faith, is expected to open the process on the 17th of October; however Bishop Zurek has been silent on his universal agreement .

Bishop Zurek accused “the few” of lying, but he is the one who is currently opposing the spirit of truth through whom the Lord has made known his salvation.
…but it does not justify constant violation of the Seventh Commandment of the Decalogue! A lie is a lie…always!
Bishop Patrick J. Zurek, A Reflection on Christian Life
The Catholic 7th Commandment is, “Thou Shalt not steal“, and the Protestant 7th is, “thou shalt not committ adultery“; even so “the few” understood Bishop Zurek’s sign.
Pope Francis and other bishops, including Bishop Robert of Lubbock, have already showed signs of growing in the understanding of the realities and the words which have been handed down, but the bishop of Amarillo has seemed to have hardened his heart.

I pray that those who treasure these things in their hearts will rise, abandon their silence and condemn Bishop Zurek’s delay in announcing the opening of the synodal process.
Even if His Excellency does not repent, the Diocese of Amarillo would become on the part of the Bishops and Faithful a single common effort to tear down the current signs of the “serious mistake” by showing there is something greater than “Salazar” here!
