Tuesday of the Twenty-third Week in Ordinary Time|Traitor

Pope Francis meets to discuss Strickland resignation

I beg you, my brothers, stand upon our watch-tower, for now is the time for battle. Let all our dealings be in the heart, where Christ dwells, in right judgement and wise counsel, but in such a way as to place no confidence in those dealings, nor rely upon our fragile defences.

Today’s Office Second Reading
From a sermon of St Bernard of Clairvaux

Reading 1

On this 12th day of the Season of Creation, Have I been captivated by the empty, seductive MAGA
according to the tradition of clergy like Bishop Strickland, Mr. Frank Pavone, Mr. James Altman and Archbishop Vigano
according to the political powers of the United States
and not according to Christ….

Responsorial Psalm

…who, during the coronavirus pandemic, urged that more compassion be shown by Pope Francis for the innocent whose embryonic cell lines were used for vaccine testing; yet now tell us that it’s a moral good for MAGA politicians to find a compassionate consensus on abortion that sacrifices innocents from conception to any number of weeks and doesn’t alienate moderate Republicans and swing voters

Alleluia

Gospel

… therefore, which Judas will I be: one who lives in obscurity bearing fruit that lasts; or a traitor who trades Truth for MAGA political correctness which the world may not stop or shut down, but the Church will overcome ⁉️

“They won’t stop me. When we’re speaking the truth of Jesus Christ, there is no politically correct. And the world can try to shut us down, but it won’t work.”

Bishop Strickland

From September 1 – October 4, the Christian family unites worldwide in prayer and action for creation during the Season of Creation. The 2023 theme is “Let Justice and Peace Flow.”

“in this Season of Creation, as followers of Christ on our shared synodal journey, we may live, work, and pray so that our common home will teem with life once again.”

Pope Francis
Pope Francis: Second Laudato si’ to be published on 4 October

When we fail to acknowledge as part of reality the worth of a poor person, a human embryo, a person with disabilities – to offer just a few examples – it becomes difficult to hear the cry of nature itself; everything is connected.

Laudato si, paragraph 117
