“What then will the owner of the vineyard do❓”

From Today’s Gospel, Mark 12:9

On Corpus Christi Sunday Bishop Zurek checked in on a part of the Lord’s vineyard that has been leased to him called St. Mary’s Cathedral for the 9:30 Mass;…

… first, he found that the reserved parking spot that is normally vacant at all times wasn’t; so His Excellency decided to teach an impromptu lesson on respect for clericalism by ignoring the red fire lane stripe and double parked behind the offending vehicle;…

… about that time a long time parishioner and former staffer for Monsignors Smyer and Waldow came out of the 8:00am Mass. He was not the one who had parked in the bishop’s spot, but he was one of the “few” whom Bishop Zurek had judged as not being among the “faithful and loyal members of St. Mary’s whom the Lord Jesus desires”. This parishioner had just received Communion and was showing the appropriate respect for the “real presence” of Jesus whom he was carrying in a pix on his person by leaving directly after Communion and bringing the consecrated Host to his homebound wife as quickly as possible. In doing this he did not notice His Excellency illegally parked and unloading his miter and crossier, but Bishop Zurek noticed him, and governing with clericalism, chided him for leaving Mass early and reminded him “I’m your pastor!”;…

…later in his Homily, our Pastor expressed his disapproval for the lack of respect his flock was showing when bowing and genuflecting towards the tabernacle;…

…and it is on this matter I would like to contemplate…

… I wonder if Bishop Zurek has considered the possibility that since,…

… Fr. Tony cancels daily Mass because he doesn’t want to become a victim of burnout by celebrating both a daily and funeral Mass in a day;…

…and Fr. Tony cancels Morning Mass because he needs to sleep in after the exhaustion of renewing his priestly vows at the Chrism Mass the night before;…

…and Fr. Tony cancels confessions until a security system that can protect him is installed…

…and Fr. Tony cancels confessions again just weeks after his security system is installed so he can attend a Sod Poodles game…

…and Fr. Tony cancels morning Mass again so he can be rested enough to assist Bishop Zurek confirm youth in the evening…

…and Fr. Tony cancels morning Mass again so he can sleep in on his  Ordination anniversary and because it is not grandiose enough of a celebration for honoring his 20 years of “humble” service to the people of God;…

…and Fr. Tony cancels confessions again so he can be honored with a meatloaf dinner;…

…considering all these cancellations of the Sacramental Jesus,…

…could it be that we at St. Mary’s Cathedral have become so accustomed to bowing and genuflecting with Bishop Zurek’s clericalism towards Fr. Tony…

…that we no longer feel the need to respect the Father’s Beloved Son in the tabernacle;…

…and if that is true,…

…”What then will the owner of the vineyard do❓”
