“Should we pay or should we not pay❓”

From Today’s Gospel, Mark 12:14

For us in the Diocese of Amarillo that isn’t a legitimate ❓,  for although under Roman rule the Jews had an option as to whether or not they paid the census tax, under Bishop Zurek’s clericalism we have no such option;…

…for as Fr. Tony basically told us at St. Mary’s Cathedral, “It doesn’t hurt Bishop Zurek if you don’t pay because he will just take the money you thought you were giving back to God because he believes that it belongs to him”;…

…in fact, even the name of the process has been changed slightly from United Catholic Appeal to  United Catholics ( with the word appeal in fine print on the side) as an acknowledgement that more and more what unites us is not a universal appeal to which we all respond but a tax that all Catholics will pay;…

… but, can we be “United” by force…

… furthermore, are we Catholics if by saying we are Catholic we are saying, we are universal: the idea of all, the idea of one; because, once again, how can those ideas be forced upon us…

… however, since Bishop Zurek does seem to be searching for a new name that is truer to the actual process of taking what belongs to God and giving it to himself…

…may I suggest “The Collective Clericalistic Campaign “❓
