Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Do I have to be one of “the few” who believes that caring for the earth, our common home, has to go beyond praying for, “much needed rain” in order to be among the parishioners of St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish who “are the faithful and loyal disciples that the Lord Jesus desires”❓

Now that I have finished part of my experience with this “the few” I
need to address you who are not part of them.
I now speak to all the rest of you, the parishioners of St. Mary’s
Cathedral Parish. You are the faithful and loyal disciples that the Lord Jesus
desires.

from Bishop Zurek’s Letter to St. Mary’s Cathedral, “A Reflection on Christian Life”

Perhaps it was “because Adam had control over all creation” that “by the envy of the devil death entered the world“, causing me to care for our common home as as the devil would;…

…nevertheless, cannot St. Mary’s Cathedral parish become a synodal and missionary Church distinguished by the sharing of all the baptized in the one mission of proclaiming the Gospel, even if that Gospel doesn’t include caring for our common home…

…besides, if I just pray for more rain and “praise you, Lord,” will you not rescue me from “WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR COMMON HOME“…

…moreover, doesn’t my “abundance at the present time” supply my needs;…

…however, since, “Our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed death
and brought life to light through the Gospel
“,…

…shouldn’t I consider “how faith brings new incentives and requirements with regard to the world of which” I am a part;…

…then, will I not discover that by using, “Do not be afraid” and “just have faith” as two slices of bread, that the meat of my sandwich becomes, “your faith has saved you“❓
