Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

Am I aware that, amid the constant call of my family responsibilities, the commitment to base everything I do in a spirit of sharing and fraternity among my fellow disciples at St. Mary’s Cathedral may seem burdensome, even a waste of time, but isn’t the opposite true: indeed, isn’t it only in this way that I  will be credible and my activity not end up scattering what others have already gathered

Bishop Zurek says I’m “restless“; furthermore he says that’s not a good thing; nevertheless, over the last several years we’ve learned how to, “Bear with one another”: I park in his reserved parking spot and post on Facebook while he reposts or deletes stories from the diocesan news site in order to irritate me; however isn’t it all similar to the restless Mary Magdalene because the one whom she sought outwardly was the one who inwardly taught her to keep on searching as we are today;…

… indeed, I was restless and  I sought him but I did not find him”…

…then I cried out, “My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God”;…

…so, Alleluia, alleluia;
“Tell us Mary, what did you see on the way?”;
accordingly, she replied, “I saw the glory of the risen Christ, I saw his empty tomb.”;
Alleluia, alleluia”;…

… subsequently, “As he made his way throughout the land, he often stopped to contemplate the beauty sown by his Father, and invited his disciples to perceive a divine message in things: “Lift up your eyes, and see how the fields are already white for harvest” (Jn 4:35); consequently, isn’t this the same divine message that Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, and  the same one that Bishop Zurek and I, in our own peculiar way, are announcing to each other today❓
