Since Bishop Zurek has “weeded out“, “Test” (The strange post on the Diocese of Amarillo news site in which His Excellency recited, “Mary had a Little Lamb”) can I,(For the reason of preparing St. Mary’s Cathedral for the Second Session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, which will take place in the coming month of October) invite those who have been participating in Bishop Zurek’s clericalism by pulling out of the diocesan news what His Excellency considers as weeds to his episcopacy, to be instead, “missionaries of synodality” that allow all to grow together till harvest❓
We lose the capacity to realize “I, as a lay person, do not always have all the knowledge”; while it is quite probable that the deacon, priest or bishop has a much fuller picture of what is actually happening.
From a letter from Bishop Patrick J. Zurek to the Faith Community at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Amarillo.
Does Bishop Zurek speak as if I were a child of his: as a fair exchange, that opens my mind in the same way; accordingly, does he hold me in his heart, and not only that, but with room for me to move freely;…

… moreover, does he ask me to put my trust in the deceitful words:
“I am a bishop of the LORD!
A bishop of the LORD! A bishop of the LORD!”;…
…then, am I not left standing outside of the Diocesan Pastoral Center that burdens our parish finances as His Excellency enters proclaiming, “How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord, mighty God!“;…
…Alleluia, alleluia;
still, should I not humbly welcome the word that has been planted in me
and is able to save my soul;
Alleluia, alleluia;…
…and though humanity has changed profoundly, and the accumulation of constant novelties exalts a superficiality which pulls me in one direction, does that mean I have to grow in the direction Bishop Zurek grows, or can I have the patience to grow according to my conscience together with him until harvest ❓
