Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Is not the way that, “I, as a lay person”, can “‘Pick up the pieces left over'”, at St. Mary’s Cathedral by Bishop Zurek’s clericalism, “‘so that nothing gets wasted.'”, be by encouraging reflection, with a synodal and missionary mindset, on the renewal of my parish , and enable our next bishop to gather our distinctive contributions in view of the Instrumentum Laboris for the Second Session of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops (October 2024)

We lose the capacity to realize “I, as a lay person, do not always have all the knowledge”; while it is quite probable that the deacon, priest or bishop has a much fuller picture of what is actually happening.

From a letter from Bishop Patrick J. Zurek to the Faith Community at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Amarillo.

Am I going to suffer from Bishop Zurek’s episcopacy in God’s way, which means changing for the better and leaves no regrets; moreover, when Bishop Zurek walks in the door of St. Mary’s Cathedral for the last time as its pastor, will I be able to say, “So great was the delight that you gave me that it was not even dimmed by so much tribulation, but overcame by its strength and keenness all those sorrows which had invaded my heart, and took away from me all awareness of them.“;

… indeed, has not the Lord said to me that when Pope Francis finally accepts Bishop Zurek’s resignation, “‘there shall be some left over‘” at St. Mary’s Cathedral;…

…besides, is it Bishop Zurek that answers all our needs, or is it “The hand of the Lord that feeds us;…

…therefore, “bearing with one another through love“;…

Alleluia, alleluia;
subsequently, even with Bishop Zurek, can I not proclaim, “A great prophet has risen in our midst.
God has visited his people.
“;
Alleluia, alleluia;…

 …because, to blame Bishop Zurek for what has happened at St. Mary’s Cathedral is like blaming population growth instead of extreme and selective consumerism on my part for the approximately third of all food produced being discarded; and since “whenever food is thrown out it is as if it were stolen from the table of the poor, shouldn’t I act with synodality in dealing with what is happening in both my parish and the world by doing as Jesus directed, “Gather the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted.” ❓
