By building our new bishop’s house alongside his and away from St. Mary’s Cathedral, has not Bishop Zurek created a situation in which the Diocese of Amarillo has, “(Two) many bishops without a people“;…

…indeed, “The Church (people of God) is in the bishop and the bishop is in the Church”, and although both the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center and the Diocesan Pastoral Center (near where Bishop Zurek has determined the bishops houses should be) can be considered “hidden gems” of our diocese, neither of them house a Church;…

furthermore, even though St. Laurence is a Church nearby the bishops’ houses, it is no longer the Church that Bishop Zurek or our next bishop will pastor;…

…accordingly, hasn’t being housed away from the Church he pastors caused Bishop Zurek to relegate his office to one of a mere notarial function,” in which he is “the first, last, and only instance” of processes in the diocese when, “if anything”, he should be “the first, when he initiates processes” at St. Mary’s Cathedral and “the last, when he concludes them.” at the same Church;…

…therefore, “In this circular relationship of unity and diversity,” shouldn’t Bishop Zurek have housed “himself and our next bishop on the side of unity”, not uniformity,: as Pastor “of the particular” parish of St. Mary’s Cathedral, “with all its peculiarities, and from there be “at the service of the unity of the Church, as guarantor of the communion of the” parishes;…

…consequently, should I not pray that our new bishop re-establishes the link between himself and St. Mary’s Cathedral parish and “Just Says NO❣️” to living in a house that Zurek built and from moving about from one parish to another ❓

“Just as there is no mission without context, there is no Church which is not rooted in a given place, with its particular culture and unique history”, subsequently, how can our bishop carry on a mission while living outside the context of a Church; conversely, isn’t the Church housed at St. Mary’s Cathedral crying out, “Bishop Zurek ‘deserted me and went to’…”❓

“This is why it is impossible to envisage abstract formation initiatives. These should be defined by local Churches, and their groupings, Episcopal Conferences, and equivalent Eastern hierarchical structures.”, not in a house or office with no connection to a Cathedral parish; after all, Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.“❓

“This document, therefore, will limit itself to indicating some guidelines and fundamental characteristics of formation with regard to synodality, which should then be put into practice, taking into consideration the specific contexts, cultures, and traditions of a given place”; accordingly, should not St. Mary’s Cathedral be the first place our bishop puts “this synodality which God expects” into practice; therefore, should not our new bishop “Just Say NO❣️” to a house with no Church and echo these words of Jesus’s to St. Mary’s Cathedral, ” I chose you from the world,
to go and bear fruit that will last, says the Lord.”❓
