Will I be ready to receive our new bishop should he come…

…when Bishop Zurek still hasn’t removed a memorial raised by a convicted pedophile priest for a bishop who made a “serious mistake“;

…when Bishop Zurek still hasn’t taken down a letter from the diocesan website that denounces ‘a few’ for reporting abuse at St. Mary’s Cathedral, as their “Safe Environment Training” directed them to do;

…”And should he come” and not ‘Just Say “No❣️”‘ to being pressured into living in a house built by Zurek without any “consultation of the people of God“;

…indeed, will I be “prepared in this way“❓

“Finally, there has been a clear insistence on the need for a formation that is communal and shared, in which lay men and women, consecrated men and women, ordained ministers and candidates for ordained ministry participate together, thus enabling them to grow in their mutual knowledge and esteem for one another, and in their ability to co-operate. To this end, special attention is required to promote the participation of women in formation programs alongside seminarians, priests, religious, and lay people.“; Accordingly, shouldn’t the first thing our new bishop do be to ready us for a synod “in which lay men and women, consecrated men and women, ordained ministers and candidates for ordained ministry participate together“; after all, are we not all “members of the household of God,“❓

“It is crucially important that women have access to teaching and formation roles in theological faculties, institutes, and seminaries. It is also suggested that priests, bishops, and the laity be offered formation to make them aware of the roles and tasks women can already perform in the Church and that an evaluation of the effective use of these opportunities be promoted in all areas of Church life: Parishes, Dioceses, lay associations, ecclesial movements, new communities, consecrated life, ecclesiastical institutions, and the Roman Curia. “; Subsequently, shouldn’t I inform our new bishop that, although our diocese may not be ready for the formation of priests, bishops, and the laity together as part of this synod, isn’t this the only way, that as we “journey together,” we can “let ourselves be educated by the Spirit to a truly synodal mentality,” in which, “The Lord speaks of peace to his people.“❓

“The work of Study Group 4 is dedicated to revising the formation of candidates for ordained ministry (Ratio Fundamentalis Institutionis Sacerdotalis) from a missionary synodal perspective. A request coming from all continents is to improve formation for preaching. Finally, there is a need for a shared formation that is both theoretical and practical in communal discernment within and appropriate to various local contexts.“; nevertheless, not matter how ready we are for a shared formation that is both theoretical and practical in communal discernment—whether it concerns building a new bishop’s residence or other matters—won’t this process ultimately help us to, “Be vigilant at all times and pray that you may have the strength to stand before the Son of Man.“❓
