Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Defrocked priest and convicted pedophile John Salazar raised this memorial in honor of Bishop Matthiesen, who, after Salazar was convicted of abusing youth in our diocese, stated, “I was never sorry that I went against the Diocese of Los Angeles’ warnings not to hire Salazar!”

Bishop Zurek, for his part, called what Matthiesen did a ‘serious mistake,’ yet the memorial still remains.”
Bishop Zurek states that Canon 905.1 allows a priest to celebrate only one Mass per day; however, does Canon 905.2 not specify that, in cases of a shortage of priests, a priest may be permitted to celebrate a second Mass during the week for a just cause❓ Is a funeral not a just cause❓

Will I let rebukes silence my “calling out” to “Jesus for pity” regarding Bishop Zurek’s lack of listening, communion, and participation of all

Furthermore, wouldn’t it be a safer environment for me to remain on “the roadside“, “cloaked” in “spiritual worldliness” and stay “blind” to:

…A memorial erected by a convicted pedophile priest for a bishop whom Bishop Zurek acknowledges made a “serious mistake,” yet has not removed;

…A letter on the diocesan website, which Bishop Zurek still hasn’t retracted, rebuking  ‘a few’ who reported abuse at St. Mary’s Cathedral as directed by their “Safe Environment Training“;

…The aborting of daily Masses for the sake of priests’ health and spirituality at St. Mary’s Cathedral on days when there is a funeral Mass despite, this being a year of National Eucharistic Revival in the United States;

…A house built by Bishop Zurek without consulting the “people of God,” which effectively puts our new bishop “in his place” before he even arrives❓

From Mark 10: 46-52

XVI ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY

OF THE SYNOD OF BISHOPS
How to be a missionary synodal Church
Instrumentum laboris
Part II – Pathways
Ecclesial discernment for mission
62.

Communal discernment is not a mere organizational technique but a demanding practice that qualifies the life and mission of the Church lived out in Christ and the Holy Spirit. For this reason, it must always be carried out with the awareness and the will to be gathered in the name of the Lord Jesus (cf. Mt 18:20), listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.” Therefore, can it not be said that by way of “Communal discernment” we are shown “pity” by which “The LORD has delivered his people,“❓

As Jesus promised, only the Holy Spirit can lead the Church towards the fullness of life and truth (cf. Jn 16:13), that these may be made available to a world thirsting for meaning.” Accordingly, if I just wallow in self-“pity” about the difficulty of following the Holy Spirit’s lead, will I ever discover that “The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.“❓

The means by which the People of God lives out its mission of proclaiming and bearing witness to the Gospel is rooted here. It is, therefore, a priority to learn to practice at all levels that evangelical art that enabled the community of the apostles in Jerusalem to characterize the first synodal event in the history of the Church with these words: “For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us” (Acts 15:28).” Hence, by learning to practice that evangelical art of the first synodal event, will I not find the “pity” that comes only from the Holy Spirit, as “No one takes this honor upon himself“❓

Alleluia, alleluia,
It is in this spirit that the practice of the Church’s missionary synodal life taking place in specific places, structures, and events must be understood and oriented.” Thus, will I not find “pity” in this spirit that the Church’s missionary synodal life addresses the “serious mistake” memorial, the letter, aborted Eucharists, and the house built by Zurek which puts our next bishop “in his place“, seeing that “Our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life to light through the Gospel.“❓
Alleluia, alleluia

October is not just “Safe Environment Month”; it is also the month of the Synod. But can we truly have a “Safe Environment” without a shared mission”❓

 Consequently, can I not ascend from created things “to the greatness of God and to his loving” “pity” by praying and advocating for our new bishop to “Just Say NO❣️” to Bishop Zurek’s “sins against synodality” which have me crying out and saying,

“‘Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.’
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.“❓

 Consequently, we can ascend from created things “to the greatness of God and to his loving mercy”.
