Tuesday of the Twenty-third Week in Ordinary Time

Jesus “chose” Bishop Zurek to be our apostle, so why, in the upcoming edition of the West Texas Catholic, did His Excellency not post his schedule so that we could know where the apostle, who was “chose” for us, is being sent❓

Moreover, why has Bishop Zurek:

• chose to demand that we put on our schedule time to register to vote and attend his Respect Life Mass, but chose NOT to respect us by NOT putting on his schedule the informing of our consciences about the upcoming vote on the proposed “abortion trafficking” ordinance in the Diocese of Amarillo as Bishop Strickland chose to take time on his schedule to do❓
• chose NOT to put a meeting with his catechists on his schedule last Saturday, September 7, even though Pope Francis chose to make catechists a priority on his busy schedule during his current Asian tour❓
• chose, when a posted schedule doesn’t show him anywhere else on a Sunday, to NOT be a “Real Presence” at his Cathedral of St. Mary’s, as Christ has always chose to “Be”❓

Call to conversion and reform

“The Church’s synodal style offers humanity many important insights. In an age marked by increasing inequalities, growing disillusionment with traditional models of governance, democratic disenchantment and the dominance of the market model in human interactions, and the temptation to resolve conflicts by force rather than dialogue, synodality could offer inspiration for the future of our societies.“; however, in the Diocese of Amarillo I am asking why Bishop Zurek could not at least have chose to be synodal with his schedule and alleviate my cry, “How long, O Lord, am I to cry for help while you will not listen” ❓

“Its attractiveness stems from the fact that it is not a management strategy but a practice to be lived and celebrated in a spirit of gratitude. The synodal way of living relationships is a social witness responding to the deep human need to be welcomed and recognized within a concrete community.“; therefore, in regards to how our bishop has chose to do his schedule”, “I beg you, my brothers, stand upon our watch-tower, for now is the time for battle.“❓

“ Synodal practice challenges the growing isolation of people and cultural individualism, which even the Church has often absorbed, and calls us to mutual care, interdependence and co-responsibility for the common good. Equally, it is also a challenge to an exaggerated social communitarianism that suffocates people and does not allow them to be free subjects of their own development.“; subsequently, shouldn’t Bishop Zurek, when writing his latest reflection on abortion, have chose to schedule in some time to inform our conscience about how an “abortion trafficking” ordinance that, “If passed,…would…expose…anyone who ‘aids or abets an elective abortion if the abortion is performed on a resident of Amarillo’ regardless of where the abortion occurs. Texans may sue one another over suspected violations of the law, with damages of $10,000 for each violation.” can be supported by the Scripture, “How can any one of you with a case against another dare to bring it to the unjust for judgment instead of to the holy ones“❓

“The concreteness of the synodal process has shown how much the Church itself needs to grow in this dimension. Study Group 2 is also working on this issue.“; consequently, shouldn’t I as well since, “I chose you from the world, That you may go and bear fruit that will last, says the Lord“❓

“The Lord, in the culmination of the mystery of the Incarnation, chose to reach our intimate depths through a fragment of matter.“, which we call the Eucharist; therefore, when Bishop Zurek doesn’t have any other place on his schedule on a Sunday, shouldn’t he have chose to share the Eucharist, the “Real Presence” of Jesus, with those who are always in the presence of his cathedra, thus confirming the Gospel, “…and from them he chose…, whom he also named Apostles“❓
